Cruise To Cocoa Village
March 15 thru 21, 2020
March 15 thru 21, 2020
Below are details for our trip to Cocoa Village:
There are a number of reasonably priced hotels in the area if you would like to join by land. Come Tuesday, early, for a walk around the “Village”, dinner Tuesday night and the Space Center tour on Wednesday.
A walk across the street leads into Cocoa Village with charming shops, several attractive restaurants and an old-style hardware store that is a gadget guy’s dream. Also used to be an amazing donut shop, but when we were last there, it had closed. There is public transportation across the bridge to Cocoa Beach, where an excursion to the world-famous Ron Jon Surf Shop might be fun for us all to shop for grandkids.
- Boaters will leave Palm Cove on Sunday, March 15th and travel to Suntex Marina in Vero Beach. This will be about a 3 hour trip. There is a boaters’ lounge but no restaurant. According to the 2020 Waterway Guide, there is a new shopping center about 1 mile away with a Publix and other small restaurants.
- Leave Vero Monday morning and travel to Cocoa Village Marina. This will be about a 3 hour trip (51 miles). Once arriving, you will be on your own for the day including lunch/dinner. There are many great little pubs and restaurants in the “Village” which is about a 2 block walk from the marina.
- On Tuesday we have reservations at Café Margaux at 6:30.
- On Wednesday, A number of folks are taking a tour of the Space Center. This will be about a 3 hour tour once on site. I’m guessing it will really take most of the day.
- On Thursday we plan another group dinner at a restaurant to be determined. There is a Space X launch scheduled in the morning.
- Boaters will leave Cocoa Village on Friday and travel to Suntex at Vero Beach.
- Leave for travel back to Palm Cove on Saturday morning.
